Phoenix House is the nation's leading non-profit provider of substance abuse treatment and prevention services, serving more than 5,700 men, women (including women with children), and teens each day at more than 123 programs in 11 states-California, Connecticut, Florida, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New York, Rhode Island, Texas Vermont, and Virginia.

Under the general supervision of the Director of Admissions and Program Manager, exercises independent judgment and discretion, in providing, coordinating and arranging outreach, admissions and assessment of prospective clients for Phoenix House programs

RESPONSIBILITIES

In addition to all components of the above position summary the following "Responsibilities" are essential to successful performance in this position:

Directly responsible for interviewing applicants for admissions to the residential program and performing assessments and evaluations both on site and off site if need be in keeping with Phoenix House policies and procedures.

Accurately inputs admissions data regarding clients into the data management system.

This includes, but is not limited to interviewing prospective clients and relatives to obtain necessary and pertinent personal and financial data, including insurance authorizations to determine eligibility and appropriateness of treatment and admission.

Develops and maintains relationships with other providers and agencies in order to create working referral relationships.

Requirements

Coordinates and completes the admissions process (which may include transportation) for all intakes with approval by their authorized representatives.

Conducts outreach on a weekly basis, attends community meetings if needed, takes part in resource fairs and other outreach efforts and builds and maintains referral relationships.

Has experience in dealing with insurance authorizations in one capacity or another, and has a clear understanding of diagnosis' and co-occuring disorders.
