Application and Training Specialist (Contract) (Sports Media/Graphics/Web/IT)
Our company is looking for an Application and Training Specialist for our LA Corporate office. This is a CONTRACT position.
POSITION OVERVIEW
The Application and Training Specialist provides technical support to end-users in diagnosing and resolving complex technical application problems, escalating to and working with appropriate technical group(s) and developers to resolve issues
Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
Provide technical lead and subject matter expertise in support of management, point-of-sale and other software applications as required.
Participate in the development, implementation, installation, and testing of applications software.
Participate in the development of training materials and assists in conducting training.
Provide on-call support and problem resolution for computer applications.
Investigate and resolve complex technical application problems and bugs escalated from the Help Desk.
Determine complexity of system issue and determine the necessity of whether to involve and incorporate internal developers and/or external support in the investigation and resolution of pending issues that could possibly impact enterprise-wide systems.
Monitor call queues to ensure issues are handled per the service level agreement requirements.
Be available off-hours, and weekends to provide support and maintainence as needed.
Maintain and update application data, including but not limited to pricing, promotions, services, commissions and staff accounts.
Assist internal support groups in producing examples and detail of resolving problems and issues.
Assist in projects to increase support efficiency.
Maintain a broad knowledge of technology, software and/or systems relative to computing.
Act as vendor liaison, both internally and externally.
Qualifications:
The successful candidate must have the following experience, skills, and education:
Excellent customer service skills.
Strong ability to follow-up and follow-through.
Ability to communicate technical concepts in a non-technical manner.
Ability to effectively communicate complex technical concepts, both verbally and in writing with people at every level of the organization.
Knowledge of software technical support methodologies, functions and procedures.
Ability to diagnose network/connectivity issues.
Ability to interpret documents such as operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
Ability to validate & document solutions for contribution to a knowledge base.
Working knowledge of client-server systems and operations.
Knowledge of the following applications: Microsoft Windows 2000/XP, Microsoft Office Suite, Symantec PCAnywhere.
