Director of Digital Media
The Director of Digital Media is responsible for the effective production and management of all digital products and services related to the channel including and interactive applications on mobile, set-top devices, as well an any new tv networks. The Director should be a highly skilled communicator, able to quickly understand business needs, and help drive both internal and external teams to success. This person will lead internal and external teams to launch site(s) for any new domestic channels in conjunction with the marketing launch plan. This person will also create a long-term roadmap and will define and implement technical and content strategies for all emerging digital platforms. The Director must be comfortable jumping into the trenches to handle content updates and quick fixes personally as needed, as well as managing external teams, a shared marketing coordinator, and an intern. This hands-on role is based in Culver City and reports to the Vice President of Marketing for Sony Movie Channel.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Develop a strategic plan and tactical roadmap for the sites and related digital platforms
Develop and organize content relevant to the new channel
Work with external teams to design, build, test, release, and enhance the sites and products
Create project plans including detailed phases of work and timelines to ensure on-time and successful execution of complex programs and numerous concurrent projects.
Ensure requirements and priorities are thoroughly defined and documented with all business stakeholders
Obtain management approvals for work in progress
Act as point of escalation for all issues related to digital projects; ensure internal and external team/client expectations are set and solutions to issues can be addressed quickly
Drive accountability across cross-functional teams (Marketing, On-air, Programming) towards critical milestones and deadlines
Work with the Marketing and On-air teams to help promote the site and create multi-platform stunts
Work with Information Security to ensure the sites comply with all security requirements
Be on call to address any emergency site issues, such as an outage or security breach
Create and manage budgets and budget presentations
Write and define RFPs
Select and manage vendors
Write/edit Statements of Work and obtain necessary legal clearances
Obtain proper internal approval of contracts and oversee financial accounting
Review and comment on Technical Design Documents and Functional Specifications
Provide creative direction on site design, focusing on both user experience and aesthetic quality
Manage the flow of deliverables for development partners
Manage the QA process for specific projects
Prepare traffic and usage reports on an as-needed basis
Coordinate payment of invoices for outside vendors
