Director, Promotions- Film
Major Studio seeks a Director, Promotions for the Promotions department. Pitches, negotiates and oversees execution of corporate tie-in promotions of selected theatrical releases for North America. Works with Consumer Products and approves all film-related activities and products they execute on assigned films. Works with theatrical marketing team to understand the overall marketing plans for selected films and insure strategic fit of potential alliances. Manages and develops a team.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Set promotional pitch strategies for corporate tie-ins based on defined marketing objectives and strategies for their assigned films.
Develop a list of companies to target on each film that fits with marketing/pitch strategy.
Oversee a manager and administrator in the development of solicitation materials, including property overviews, tie-in concepts, promotional parameters and potential partner benefits for each film.
Work with various agencies to develop concepts and presentations targeted to specific companies and and/or industries.
Present tie-in opportunities to senior marketing personnel at target companies.
Negotiate agreements with interested companies that take into account media exposure, creative execution, and potential fees.
Manage creative elements of promotions and oversee management, producer and talent approvals when applicable.
Manage -wrap-up- report for selected films in a timely manner.
Target, develop and maintain relationships with potential promotional partners, becoming familiar with partner's business and marketing opportunities.
Oversee contract execution on partner deals.
Provide input for department status report on a weekly basis.
Set budget for promotions on selected films.
Manage and develop staff, providing direction on projects, execution of programs and overseeing skill development.
Work internally with project executive & creative executive to understand and help develop execute overall marketing strategy and plan for a particular film.
Collaborate with Consumer Products on all film merchandising and related activities.
Work with Retail Business Development & Warner Bros. Home Entertainment to maximize retail promotional opportunities for selected films.
Facilitate relationship of partner with other Warner Bros. Picture departments to identify incremental opportunities for partners (i.e. premieres, field promotions, national publicity, online, etc.).
