DTC Marketing Specialist West Coast (Sports Marketing/Events/Promotions)
As our Marketing Specialist for DTC - West Coast, you'll be responsible for supporting the Brand Marketing efforts of the West territory in our own Direct to Consumer doors, through collaborative efforts with the Brand team, DTC and store teams. You'll assist in the execution of DTC and Brand initiatives, sport moments, product launches and will drive consumer buzz and connection with our company and key company products. You'll maintain close relationships with consumer groups and work closely with our Sports Marketing, Event Marketing, regional marketing teams, and Field Representatives to identify influencers and stay current on market trends. You'll also coordinate the integrated marketing timelines and calendars for an assigned category. You'll compile and organize key seasonal assets needed by each function to execute their plans. You'll be a source for gaining instant consumer response/feedback for projects in the planning and execution phases. You'll maintain close ties with target consumers to gain knowledge and help drive a creative marketing plan to grow and strengthen business. You'll also work with the functional marketing team and serve as the primary contact for their needs across product, messaging and athlete. You'll communicate product support to cross-functional teammates responsible for other key seeding packages. In addition, you'll meet with our Accounting team to track expenses against each assigned budget and work closely with the inventory management and promo planning team to place product buys and ensure the timely delivery of product and program execution.
Requirements for the position include:
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Public Relations, Retail Marketing or a related field - 3 years' work experience with an emphasis on marketing, promotions, event management, public relations and retail - 5 years' related experience in lieu of a degree - Experience managing and tracking a budget - Proficient with Word, Excel and PowerPoint - Ability to work extended hours during busy times - Background in retail, media, public relations, event planning and advertising is preferred - Experience working in a marketing and/or product-marketing role is preferred - Advertising agency experience is preferred - Project management experience is preferred - Experience giving presentations is preferred - Our company's retail, marketing or event experience preferred - Prefer experience working with a variety of consumers, including high school basketball players - General understanding of basketball dynamics and personal experience playing basketball is preferred - Large amounts of driving required. Must have access to a car at all times - Prefer experience with digital media - Facebook, MySpace, YouTube - Prefer knowledge of the Chicago marketplace
