Our Advisory Services practice within the FSO helps clients better align their organizations' operating infrastructures with their strategies. We have a broad range of capabilities to assist clients with operational improvement, profitability management, finance function activities, and business integration. Our professionals focus on the assessment and redesign of business, risk, and control processes and the refinement of operating models. The goal is to support our clients' efforts to make their business units more effective and efficient and, where required, provide services in connection with the remediation and mitigation of process risk. Our experience is also important to the analysis of specific business requirements for alignment with technology architecture, technology infrastructure design, and vendor selection decisions.
Responsibilities Lead a team of individuals on a daily basis in providing client service directly to the Chief Financial Officer and Finance executives within world class financial institutions.
Develop and maintain productive relationships with client management throughout the year while establishing expectations of value to be delivered.
Advise clients on a variety of business process services that help identify, assess, manage and measure the risk exposure in organizations. These may include: Finance Function Strategy (Execution and Alignment), Outsourcing/Offshoring, Shared Services and Finance Risk and Control Process Improvement.
Identify and communicate relevant trends, developments, and key performance drivers relevant to the client. Demonstrate a deep understanding of the client's industry and marketplace.
Critically analyze the policies, procedures, people, processes, and systems used by financial institutions to identify, assess, measure, monitor and control significant issues or risks.
Develop people by encouraging individuals to think for themselves and take responsibility for their contributions to the team.
Recommend modifications to client infrastructures to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of business processes and risk management programs.
Generate new business opportunities. Understand Ernst & Young and its service lines and actively assess/present ways to apply knowledge and services. Develop long-term relationships and networks, both internally and externally. To qualify, candidates must have: * a bachelor's degree and approximately 8 years of related work experience; or a master's degree and approximately 7 years of related work experience * a degree in finance, accounting, or a related business discipline in accounting, finance or a related field; MBA or MS degree preferred * a minimum of 6 years experience in a consulting environment with a focus on finance improvement and/or operations improvement for financial services clients * experience with the design, development and implementation of internal controls for financial services business processes a plus * basic understanding of accounting, regulatory and compliance concepts prevalent in banking and other financial institutions * excellent written and verbal communication skills for report writing and client presentations * strong analytical skills; specifically, the ability to assess and decompose financial services industry processes utilizing a risk and control focus * effective leadership, project management and teamwork skills Willingness to travel approximately 50%, on average.
