Under general supervision, sets up and operates progressive heading machines; managing the output of multiple assets in an assigned work area. Responsibilities: * Reviews work order to determine set up, tooling and specifications of parts. * Sets-up and operates equipment to produce parts, ensuring that wire (raw material) is formed into dimensions specified in the requested print. * Meets output requirements for assigned work area, with a minimum 2% improvement quarter over quarter. * Meets quality and re-work targets in assigned work area, by inspecting parts during production to ensure they are produced to required dimensions and conform to all specifications. * Maintains a minimum productivity rating within the top 35% of the focused factory. * Completes all job related paperwork and production step function; accurately records downtime, scrap and yield calculations. * Maintains and performs routine preventative maintenance on all equipment. * Maintains an organized, clean and safe work area using 5S guidelines and safety standards. * Complies with all environmental safe practices and regulations. Reads all MSDS and possesses thorough knowledge of all oil and chemical labeling and storage requirements. * Regularly submits new ideas to support continuous improvement efforts. * Performs other related duties as assigned or requested. Required Skills
* Certification on primary Heading equipment * Reads and interprets blueprints * Follows verbal and written instructions * Accurately enters data into computer program: Data collection system * Performs inspection: visual and manual using some or all of the following - comparators, overlays, gauges, depth pins, microscopes * Utilizes measurement skills to ensure product/part conforms to specifications * Uses diagnostic equipment: Rivet gun * Proofreads documents: schematics * Accurately calculates figures using basic shop math skills Required Experience
* High school diploma or equivalent * 2+ years related experience
