We invite you to join our thriving Hematology Oncology Medical Group of San Fernando Valley. Currently, we have an opening for a Laboratory Assistant (or Medical Laboratory Technician) at our center in Encino, CA. This per-diem opportunity will work within our oncology lab twice a week and additional hours as needed (for vacation, sick-time, and LOA coverage). Our busy oncology practice is dedicated specifically to cancer research, detection, and treatment to the community. As a Laboratory Assistant (or Medical Laboratory Technician) you'll: * Assist with and perform routine hematology, routine and special chemistries, and waived testing. * Package, label and route materials. * Complete all appropriate documentation as required. * Perform phlebotomy back up as needed. * Work with our oncology research team on clinical trials if needed. * Perform other tasks and projects as assigned following site policies and within legal scope of responsibility.
We're looking for experienced and knowledgeable candidates with some general laboratory experience, excellent written and verbal communication skills, a strong attention to detail, a State of California Phlebotomy Certificate, and a High School Diploma (or GED). A Medical Laboratory Technician certification or Laboratory Assistant work experience are also a must.
