Manager, AFA Development (Technical Outerwear)
Product Development -Partner in project management process for Technical Outerwear products, with an emphasis on quality product development and timely completion of all tasks in accordance with the applicable calendar under the guidance of the Product Manager. -Work with Design to proactively manage the styling, material and trim requirements relative to manufacturability, performance, quality, cost, lead-times and minimums. -Partner with vendors to research new technologies and materials to provide the design team with new ideas and appropriate development options. -Develop new construction techniques around concepts like taped pocket openings, multi functional vents, adjustable hood configurations, and seamless molding techniques. -Partner with Sourcing to ensure appropriate vendor matrix exists for each season. Assist with sourcing new vendors as needed, keeping proposed garment country of origin in mind at all times. - Ensure the delivery and evaluation of quality lab dips/print strike-offs and communicate comments to vendor. -Partner with Technical Design team to ensure successful execution of fit requirements and construction; problem solve as required. Attend concept proto fit sessions with Developer and Design to gain clear direction and consensus of design's intent. -Work with Design and vendors to effectively solve and communicate any development issues. -Ensure all development documentation is maintained for assigned styles, including product specs and proto notes.
