Minimum Requirements: . A Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or related field is required. . A minimum of 10 years working in the transportation civil engineering industry required with at least 5 recent years in the Los Angeles area in a senior position interfacing with public agencies. Past employment may have been with consulting firms or public agencies involved in transportation . Experience in market research and strategy, identification/qualification of leads, development of relationships with potential clients, preparing proposals and conducting presentations . Active working relationships with most (preferably all) of the major transportation clients in Los Angeles County including METRO, Caltrans District 7, Los Angeles County, City of Los Angeles, ACTA, ACE, POLA, POLB, LAWA and SCAG. . Experience as a project manager for design of transportation facilities within a consultant organization or public agency . A Professional Engineer license in the state of California is preferred but not required. . This position requires successful completion of the URS Project Management Certification program within 6 months of hire. This certification program is a series of learning modules and is available on-line through the URS Learning Management System at no financial cost to the employee. This position is a key member of the URS Los Angeles Transportation Department and will be responsible for the pursuit and management of major transportation projects in Los Angeles. The primary focus will be on highway and multi-modal design and CM/PM projects and may involve alternative delivery including design-build and other innovative delivery methods. Experience in transit and/or rail design, as related to multi-modal urban corridors, will enhance the overall qualification for this position.
The position will involve high profile project pursuits involving a high level of client interaction, the development of strategic teaming arrangements and leading a technically diverse team in pursuit of project wins throughout Los Angeles.
