TheRadiology Service Specialistwill serve in the capacity of a trainer/educator and quality outcomes specialist. In this role, you will focus on providing radiology and radiation safety training to members of the clinical team at vascular access centers currently in operation and those scheduled for opening. The Radiology Service Specialist will report to the Director of Clinical Training and Radiology Services. This position requires up to 75% travel within an assigned region. A home-based office located in the Los Angeles area or Southern California region of the United States is preferred.

Trainer/Educator
*
Provides training and monitors the implementation of clinical policies and procedures in the facility
*
ï? Implements education programs to include, but not limited to, new teammate radiation safety and radiology training
*
Monitors, identifies trends, and reports outcomes at the facility and assists the quality improvement team to improve outcomes
*
Schedules and monitors yearly visits of medical physicists
*
Facilitates the registration process of C-Arm licenses
*
Provides direction to the preceptor following the initial training program and with ongoing support and mentoring
*
Assists in the development of patient education programs as requested
*
Ascertains specific training needs in the region and implements a plan to address these needs (i.e. radiation re-visits and radiology re-training)
*
Assists in preceptor training program(s) as assigned
*
Monitors state regulations to ensure radiology training programs to meet or exceed requirements
*
Provides continuing education and in-services/materials to teammates and patients to improve knowledge base and to meet regulatory and safety requirements on an as needed basis
*
Provides timely submission of all reports and data collection requests to corporate support teams
*
Ensures all centers in region are licensed and inspected to the requirements of the state or national regulatory department
*
Supports management training as needed
*
Assists in corporate and/or division initiatives and special projects as assigned

Quality Outcomes
*
Assists in the development, review, revision, and roll out of clinical policies and procedures and/or education materials
*
Participates with the regional director in the identification and development of facility specific education and outcome goals
*
Monitors and uses Life Quality Index
*
Assists in the implementation and monitoring of goals to achieve desired results
*
Benchmarks facilities outcomes, identifies and shares best practices
*
Assists facility Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) team members to maximize resources and strengths within their region to solve quality improvement challenges
*
Provides training and monitors the implementation of radiology policies and procedures in the facility
*
Provides timely submission of all reports and data collection requests to corporate support teams
*
Ensures radiation safety programs are in place and functional in the facilities
*
Attends regional meetings and participates in conference calls

Qualifications
*
American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) certification in Radiography (R) required
*
Vascular-Interventional Radiography (VI) or Cardiovascular-Interventional Radiography (CV) certification a plus
*
California RT and Flouro Permit required
*
Associates of Science degree or successful completion of a formal educational program accredited by a mechanism acceptable to ARRT
*
Three years minimum experience in interventional radiology / special procedures
*
Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) required
*
Intermediate computer skills in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint with ability to create presentations and use the Internet effectively
*
Travel up to 75% within assigned region
