Job Description: National Genetics Institute (NGI), a subsidiary of Laboratory Corporation of America, provides advanced clinical testing services to the biopharmaceutical industry and medical providers utilizing sophisticated applied genetics techniques. We screen the majority of the U.S. supply of Source Plasma for various infectious agents (HIV, HCV, HBV and others) using PCR-based methods and participate in numerous clinical studies in the area of infectious disease and oncology for major biopharmaceutical companies. Lab technicians are trained in and ultimately responsible for a variety of duties, specializing in thermocycling, hybridization, Southern blotting, immunostaining, and other laboratory procedures as needed.
