Shorts Entertainment Networks is recruiting an Acquisitions Executive based in the company's Santa Monica office. The Executive will be a key member of the team evaluating new content for acquisition and licensing short film, short form and feature film content from major studios, major networks, local production companies and independent producers/distributors for broadcast by ShortsHD/ShortsTV globally. S/he will be required to acquire individual films or content into the distribution catalogue and will report to the Head of Broadcast Operations providing critical support in deal negotiation, execution and management.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Content Sourcing through festival attendance, TV Market attendance, submissions and research;
Participate in all aspects of negotiation (financial analysis and forecasting, contract drafting, security/legal requirements, amendments);
Represent acquisitions team interests across the company (operations, legal, finance, business intelligence/reporting, content marketing) on a regular basis and as needed on a project basis;
Manage and evaluate external accounts through performance tracking and relationship cultivation in an effort to grow each account's business;
Develop market expertise through continuous focus on and knowledge of the competitive and market environment in each international territory;
Communicate market trends and industry shifts, including implications and recommendations, to internal and external partners.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Demonstrated mastery of verbal and written communication skills including the ability to cultivate internal and external relationships;

Great analytical and critical thinking skills;
Demonstrated experience in market analysis, competitive analysis and strategic thinking
Ability to work independently and change direction frequently;
Ability to manage and process detailed information while keeping perspective on the bigger picture
Demonstrated ability to work cross functionally;
Excellent project and time management skills;
Excellent negotiation skills and an ability to close deals quickly;
Mastery of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint are a must;
Fluent English and Spanish.
The ideal candidate has strong critical thinking skills that allow for attention to detail. S/he will represent Shorts companies at film festivals and markets, lead meetings at such markets, give presentations to all levels of external content providers and the organization as well as negotiate deals and manage external relationships with key partners. The candidate will also spearhead the company's acquisition strategy into the Latin American market, so Spanish language is an essential requirement

EDUCATION & WORK EXPERIENCE:
Degree preferred, but not required. At least 5 years of work experience is required with at least 2 years of negotiation/sales experience. Prior international television, studio, management consulting or media-focused technology experience preferred but not required.
